Greco Scores Career-High Six Goals as Crimson Hawks Stay Perfect in PSAC Play

INDIANA, Pa. – Freshman Adriana Greco (Sound Beach, N.Y./Rocky Point) scored six goals as No. 20 IUP erased an early deficit en route to its fourth-consecutive win in a 14-9 victory over Seton Hill Tuesday afternoon.

The Crimson Hawks, after going 2-2 on a season-opening trip to Florida, are 6-3 overall and a perfect 4-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play. The Crimson Hawks received their first national ranking in Monday's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), debuting at No. 20.

The career-high six goals by Greco are tied for the third-best performance in program history and the effort comes just days after fellow freshman Ally Burrows (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) scored seven goals, the second-most ever by an IUP player in one game. On the year, the freshman duo of Greco and Burrows has scored 47 of the Crimson Hawks 121 season goals.

Both teams started out slowly out of the gate, with Seton Hill scoring the game's first goal seven minutes into the contest. Minutes later, Seton Hill extended its lead to 2-0.

However, IUP answered by scoring nine of the next 10 goals in the half to go into the half up, 9-3. Greco completed her hat trick within the first 20:10 of the first half, and finished the first half with four goals.

In the second half, Seton Hill closed the scoring gap on a few occasions, but each time the Crimson Hawks were able to get another goal.

Eight different Crimson Hawk players scored goals, including senior Amy Weinberg (Clarksville, Md./Atholton), who scored two and added an assist. She's now the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference assists leader, with 37 on the season.

The Crimson Hawks return to action Friday at Bloomsburg. Play is set to begin at 4 p.m.
