INDIANA, Pa. – The 20th-ranked Crimson Hawks scored 50 second half points, separating themselves from West Virginia Wesleyan in an 82-54 season-opening victory on Saturday afternoon at the Memorial Field House.
Redshirt junior guard
Lauren Wolosik (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Catholic) scored a game-high 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting, adding five rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the 28-point victory.
IUP led by just seven points heading into the fourth quarter, but a 22-2 run taking up most of the final 10 minutes proved to be the difference as the Crimson Hawks start the 2017-18 year at 1-0.

Carolyn Appleby (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) with 16, senior forward
Megan Smith (Blain, Pa./West Perry) with 12, and junior forward
Brittany Robinson (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) with 11.

IUP had a slow start, as West Virginia Wesleyan grabbed a 17-15 lead after the opening quarter. The Crimson Hawks then took a 32-28 lead into halftime and led 50-43 heading into the fourth.
