INDIANA, Pa. – Seven Crimson Hawks won multiple individual events as the IUP men's and women's swimming teams combined for 24 victories in 28 events in a dual meet against Saint Vincent College on Saturday at the Pidgeon Natatorium.
RESULTS
The IUP women won 13 of their 14 events, with
Bria Otwell (Sarver, Pa./Freeport),
Regan Chalk (Hanover, PA/New Oxford), Sarah Helton, and
Nicole Smith (Dover, PA/Dover) all posting two victories. Otwell took home wins in the 200 freestyle (2:03.59) and 200 IM (2:18.19);
Regan Chalk (Hanover, PA/New Oxford) posted wins in the 100 backstroke (1:00.59) and 200 backstroke (2:14.11); Sarah Helton won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.19) and 200 breaststroke (2:32.66); and
Nicole Smith (Dover, PA/Dover) won the 50 freestyle (25.21) and 500 freestyle (5:12.83).
Also winning for the women were their 200 medley relay,
Beatriz Gonzalez (Barcelona, Spain/Pane Manyanet) (1000 freestyle),
Taylor Davis (Pottstown, PA/Owen J Roberts) (200 butterfly),
Emma Winchell (Level Green, Pa./Penn-Trafford) (100 freestyle), and
Sara Bertram (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) (100 butterfly).
The IUP men won 11 total events, also opening with a victory in the 200 medley relay.
Colter Long (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) won three events – 100 breast (59.19), 100 free (48.37) and 200 IM (2:01.66).
Lucas Bellier (Orléans, France) and
Noah Brockway (York, PA/Dallastown) each won a pair of events, with Bellier winning the 500 free (5:01.47) and 1000 free (10:13.97), and Brockway winning the 100 back (53.34) and 200 back (1:59.55).
Also winning were
Mace Long (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) in the 200 fly,
Shane Hallett (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) in the 200 breast, and
RJ Hammond (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) in the 100 fly.
