MANSFIELD, Pa. – Senior guard
Anthony Glover, Jr. (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) scored 23 points and junior forward
Jacobo Diaz (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain/CBA Gran Canaria) posts a double-double in consecutive games as the IUP men's basketball team defeated Mansfield 63-52 Saturday at Decker Gymnasium.
Glover and Diaz were key players of the game, being the only two Crimson Hawks to score in double-figures. Glover went 9-of-17 from the field and 5-of-10 from 3-point range.
Diaz had his second double-double in the past two games, scoring 10 points and totaling 11 rebounds. Cobo also had a double-double last game against Cheyney, scoring 15 points and a season-high of 15 rebounds. This is his fifth double-double in 11 games.
Sophomore guard
Malik Miller (Farrell, Pa./Farrell) added eight points and three assists, while redshirt junior forward
Willem Brandwijk (Voorburg, The Netherlands/Holderness School (NH)) and senior guard
Ayron Hutton (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry) each posted six rebounds and two steals.
The Crimson Hawks outshot the Mountaineers (4-4, 3-2) 41 percent to 18 percent from 3-point range.
With the win, IUP moves to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
