INDIANA, Pa. – IUP baseball dropped both ends of a non-divisional doubleheader to Shippensburg on Tuesday, falling 6-0 and 7-1 at Owen Dougherty Field.
Freshman
Ben Hudock (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) started the opener and went 5.2 innings, scattering five hits while giving up just one earned run. The Raiders then got to IUP relievers in the seventh, with a grand slam highlighting a five-run, five-hit frame.
Shippensburg (20-16-1) hit IUP pitching early on in game two, scoring five runs on three hits and five walks in the first two innings. The Raiders then added insurance runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
Joshua Beale (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) put IUP on the board in the seventh with an RBI single, scoring
Scott Hess (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep).
Today's losses drop the Crimson Hawks to 13-19 overall. They remain in a four-way tie for second place in the PSAC West with a 9-7 divisional record.

The Crimson Hawks get back to PSAC West play this weekend with a four-game set against Seton Hill. IUP will host the Griffins on Friday and travel to Greensburg on Saturday.
