WHEELING, W.Va. – IUP women's volleyball's five-match win streak came to an end on Tuesday night, as the Crimson Hawks fell to regional power Wheeling Jesuit in three sets at the McDonough Center.
Wheeling Jesuit won by scores of 25-20, 25-15, and 25-23. IUP's record dropped to 11-4 overall with the loss.
The Crimson Hawks hit .122 on the night, with just 33 kills on 123 total attacks. Senior outside hitter
Natalie Cignetti (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) had a team-best 12 kills, while classmate
Alexis Anderson (Cleveland, Ohio/Mayfield) finished with 11 kills and a .364 hitting percentage. IUP gave away 26 points on errors, including 18 on attacks.
The IUP defense did force Wheeling Jesuit (11-4) into 17 hitting errors, although the Cardinals finished with a .281 hitting percentage totaling 51 kills on 121 total attacks. The Crimson Hawks had 6.0 team blocks, with junior
Sami Brown (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) getting one block solo and two block assists, and redshirt junior
Elora Pittman (Jackson, Mich./Michigan Center) adding three block assists.

Jess Marut (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) had 12 digs and freshman
Olivia Burns (Clarion, Pa./Clarion) added 10.
