Another stellar performance by Megan Smith leads No. 3 Crimson Hawks past Slippery Rock 76-50

INDIANA, Pa. – IUP women's basketball senior Megan Smith tied her career high with six three-pointers, leading the Crimson Hawks to another home victory as IUP defeated Slippery Rock 76-50 Monday evening at the Kovalchick Complex.
 
Scoring 22 points against Slippery Rock, Smith was one three field goal away from breaking her career high record of six three-pointers in a game. The last time Smith made six three pointers was in the beginning of the month, when she went 6-9 and broke her career high of 34 points at Pitt-Johnstown.
 
After this evening's win, the Crimson Hawks remain undefeated, as they improve to 13-0 overall and 8-0 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). 
 
After a tight first quarter, IUP outscored The Rock 24-5 to open up the game. After Smith's three-pointer at the 8:05-mark in the second quarter, IUP started to run the table. Taking the lead for the rest of the game, IUP went 29-of-69 overall from all sides of the court.
 
Junior forward Brittany Robinson went 5-of-8 from the field, tallying 13 points, three steals, two assists and one block. Teammate red-shirt junior Lauren Wolosik picked up 11 points, four assists, three steals and one block.
 
IUP combined for a total of six assists, six steals and two steals compared to Slippery Rock who totaled 19 assists, 12 steals and seven blocks.
 
Tonight's match up is IUP's 15th straight win against Slippery Rock since 2010.
