GAME AT A GLANCE
The IUP field hockey team (1-6, 0-0 PSAC) will open up conference play, hosting Slippery Rock (5-3, 0-0 PSAC) Wednesday evening. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. at George P. Miller Stadium. The Crimson Hawks have dropped five straight games, including a 4-2 road decision Saturday at No. 4 Shippensburg. Slippery Rock is also coming off a a road loss at No. 6 Bloomsburg.

>> This matchup marks the Crimson Hawks 2018 official conference opener. Last season the Crimson Hawks opened conference play against Millersville receiving the win in the 1-0 final decision.
>> The Crimson Hawks traveled to Slippery Rock September 19 for a "non conference" league game and fell short to The Rock 2-1.

Olivia Accardi weathered the storm against No. 4 Shippensburg and posted a career-high 22 saves. It's the most saves by an IUP goalie since Jamie Parell 29 against Shippensburg in 2003. Accardi recently recorded 17 saves against No. 7 West Chester on September 15.

Madalyn Christen has stepped up in her first year as a starter, leading the PSAC with three defensive saves through six games. The Rock's, Liz Wolf, is currently tied with Chirsten for the most defensive saves in the PSAC.
