Crimson Hawks drop four-setter in West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Sophomore Jasmine Raudys had a season-high 13 kills but the IUP women's volleyball team couldn't complete a comeback in a four set loss at West Chester Friday night.

Raudys hit .323 on the night, hitting into just three errors on 31 total attacks. She also finished with five total blocks and a season-high 16.0 points.

The Crimson Hawks dropped to 7-20 overall and 3-11 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play with the loss.

The opening set was tight throughout, as IUP didn't let the Golden Rams (18-8, 7-7 PSAC) take a lead of more than three until the very end. IUP held a 20-19 lead before West Chester scored three straight and six of the last seven to post a 25-21 win.

It was another close battle in the second set until West Chester broke a 9-9 tie with an 8-2 run and would go on to win 25-19 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Crimson Hawks bounced back in the third, using a 6-0 run to go on top 11-7 and kept the lead throughout. They won the set 25-22. It appeared IUP would even the match in the fourth as it led for most of the set. A kill by Kylie Osborn put the Crimson Hawks on top 22-18, but West Chester ended on a 7-1 run to win the set 25-23 and clinch the match.

Other stat leaders included junior Jessica Ignace with 12 kills, sophomore setter Dominica Niccolai with 42 assists, and senior libero Jess Marut with 24 digs.
