DINWIDDIE, Va. – IUP baseball wrapped up its weekend in Virginia with a 17-2 loss Sunday to East Stroudsburg in the Dinwiddie Challenge.
Dan Sepic (York, Pa./Central York) went 1-4 and drove in the Crimson Hawks' only two runs with a two-run double in the bottom of the third inning, with
Chris Eisel (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and
Cory Wheeler (Butler, Pa./Butler) crossing the plate. That hit tied the ballgame, but hot-hitting East Stroudsburg went on to score 15 combined runs in the fifth-through-eighth innings for the big win.
Sepic had one of three hits for the Crimson Hawks, with Eisel and
Chris Calliari (Brockway, Pa./Brockway Area) getting the others. Eisel reached base three times, forcing a pair of walks to go along with his base hit.
The Crimson Hawks went 0-4 on their weekend trip to Dinwiddie, with three losses coming to teams ranked in the top 10 in Division II.
