Redfield received first team All-American honors by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and D2Football.com after his only season at IUP. One of the best defensive backs in the nation, Redfield was one of 30 Division II finalists for the Cliff Harris Award, which goes to the top small college defensive player in the country.
Redfield is the only player from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) invited to this year's combine.
Coming to IUP as a transfer from Notre Dame, Redfield displayed his talents by playing in multiple positions in the defensive backfield. He finished third on the team with 78 total tackles and second with four interceptions for 40 yards, adding a forced fumble and fumble recovery. He broke up an additional nine passes as he was one of the national leaders with 13 total passes defensed in 13 starts.

IUP in the NFL Draft
This is the second straight year IUP has had a player invited to the NFL Combine, as Redfield joins offensive guard
Ethan Cooper (Steelton, Pa. /Central Dauphin East) in 2017.
Cooper was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers, spending time on the practice squad before the New York Giants signed him in October. Cooper spent the rest of the regular season on their practice squad and was signed by the Giants to a reserve/future contact on Jan. 1.
Redfield is looking to become the eighth IUP player selected in the NFL Draft, and the first since defensive back Akwasi Owusu-Ansah was picked by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of 2010. The program's highest ever draft pick was linebacker Jim Haslett, chosen by the Buffalo Bills in the second round – 51st overall pick – in the 1979 draft.
