BROOKFIELD, Ill. – IUP head football coach
Paul Tortorella has been named the Division II Co-Coach of the Year by the Don Hansen Football Committee, released Friday afternoon.
In addition to Tortorella, seven Crimson Hawks earned Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-American honors. The seven selections is a program record.
In his first season as head coach, Tortorella led the Crimson Hawks to a 13-1 overall record, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship, and berth in the NCAA Division II semifinals. IUP won the PSAC West regular season title outright as the only undefeated team in the division, and earned the top Super Region One seed in the NCAA playoffs en route to earning PSAC West Coach of the Year honors.

The 13 consecutive wins and 13-1 overall mark both tied IUP records. The Crimson Hawks finished the year ranked third in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Top 25, the highest season-ending ranking for IUP in in the current set up of the poll.

Leading the charge on the second team are redshirt sophomore offensive guard
Colin McAllister (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester), senior defensive tackle
Jemal Averette (Upper Marlboro, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel), and redshirt sophomore cornerback
JR Stevens (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy).
Third team honorees include senior right tackle
Jerron Searles (Atlantic City, N.J./Atlantic City) and sophomore linebacker
Damon Lloyd (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll).
Redshirt junior quarterback
Lenny Williams, Jr. (McKees Rocks, Pa./Sto-Rox) and senior safety
Max Redfield (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) earned honorable mention honors.
