BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Sophomore
Madi Burns had a team-high 11 kills to lead the Crimson Hawks to a three-set win at Bloomsburg Friday night at Nelson Field House.
Burns tied her season-high by hitting .600 on the night with just two errors in 15 total attacks. She did her work off the bench, getting her 11 kills in just two sets.
The win snapped IUP's four-match losing skid and was its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) win of the year. The Crimson Hawks are now 5-11 overall and 1-2 in the league.
IUP took the match with scores of 25-22, 27-25 and 25-16. The Crimson Hawks had their best offensive performance in five matches with 34 kills and a .192 hitting percentage.
Junior
Jessica Ignace chipped in with nine kills and had a team-best 12.5 points. She had three solo blocks and one block assist. She helped IUP total 9.0 team blocks, with
Shelby Miles also totaling four blocks.
Sophomore setter
Dominica Niccolai had 30 assists, 10 digs and two of IUP's six service aces. Senior libero
Jess Marut had 18 digs.
