Lubarsky scores twice, IUP Field Hockey shuts out Seton Hill on the road

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Brianna Lubarsky scored twice in the second half and the IUP defense allowed just one shot as the Crimson Hawks posted a 3-0 win at Seton Hill Wednesday night.

The goals for Lubarsky were her team-leading seventh and eighth of the season helping the Crimson Hawks improve to 7-6 on the year and 3-3 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

With the win IUP moved into sixth place in the PSAC standings, jumping ahead of Millersville (10-2, 2-2) for the final playoff spot with four league games left on the schedule.

After a scoreless opening half, Lubarsky scored off a rebound from a Georgianna Chiavacci shot in the 38th minute. Lubarsky gave IUP a 2-0 lead five minutes later with Chiavacci's second assist of the night.

The Crimson Hawks added an early fourth quarter insurance goal by Lizzi Clemmer, her third of the season, off a pass from Emma Wilhelm.

Goalie Lexi Ciano earned her fourth shutout of the season, stopping the only shot from Seton Hill (1-9, 0-5) with six minutes to play in the game.

It was the fourth time this year IUP has allowed one shot or less to an opponent.
