INDIANA, Pa. – Senior middle
Jessica Ignace had a career-high 19 kills as IUP enjoyed its best hitting performance of the season, but IUP women's volleyball couldn't capitalize in a five-set home loss to Cal U Saturday afternoon at Memorial Field House.
Ignace had her 19 kills on 44 attacks as she hit .250 for match. Freshman
Lizzie Virgin also had a career game with 17 kills and just two errors on 44 total attacks for a .341 hitting percentage, helping the Crimson Hawks hit a season-best .232 on the offensive end.

Nicole Peterson was a third IUP player with double-digit kills, finishing with 12 on 32 attempts. IUP posted another season-high with 66 kills as a team.

Leah Henderson was the distributor and a benefactor of her hitters' consistency as she dished out a season-high 57 assists.
It was the second conference loss of the weekend for the Crimson Hawks, who drop to 5-15 overall and 4-7 in PSAC play. Cal U improved to 11-8 and 6-5 with the win.
The two teams traded set wins through the first four, with the Crimson Hawks taking the first 25-16 and the third 25-22. Cal U won the second 25-15 and the fourth 25-23. The Vulcans came away with a 19-17 win in the fifth, the third straight set decided by three or less points.
The IUP defense had eight total blocks with
Jasmine Raudys pitching in on half with two solo and four block assists.

The Crimson Hawks are back in action next weekend with a pair of road matches against PSAC Northwest opponents Slippery Rock and Clarion.
