INDIANA, Pa. –
Gia Cannavino had a team-high 10 kills but the Crimson Hawks couldn't overcome a Gannon in a three-set loss to the Golden Knights Sunday afternoon at the Memorial Field House.
Gannon won by scores of 25-17, 25-15 and 25-19. IUP fell to 6-19 overall and 5-11 in the PSAC while the Golden Knights won their ninth straight to improve to 24-5 and 15-1.
Cannavino's 10 kills came on 27 attacks as she hit a team-best .222 on the day. She ended IUP's weekend homestand with team-bests of 31 kills and 37.0 total points scored in three matches.
Cannavino was the only IUP player in double-digit kills as the team hit .037 on the day. Gannon held the advantage through nearly the entire match except for an early lead by the Crimson Hawks in the third set. IUP had its best offensive production in the final set with 12 kills and a .140 hitting percentage.
Celine Blon led the defensive effort by tying her season-high with 28 digs.
Leah Henderson added 12 digs and dished out 21 assists.
