INDIANA, Pa. – Guard
Anthony White scored a career-high 16 points and
Shawndale Jones posted a double-double as the eighth-ranked IUP men's basketball team defeated visiting East Stroudsburg 80-56 Sunday afternoon at the Kovalchick Complex.
White came off the bench to shoot 5-of-8 from the floor and 5-of-5 from the foul line in 24 minutes. He went a perfect 5-of-5 in the second half for 11 points as the Crimson Hawks saw 30 points from its bench.
Freshman forward
Ethan Porterfield also had a big game off the bench with a season-high 14 points in 27 minutes. He went 4-of-7 from the floor, 4-of-4 from the foul line, made a pair of 3-pointers, grabbed four rebounds and had two blocks and a steal.
It was the second double-double of the season for Jones, who was starting his first game after the injury to forward
Tommy Demogerontas. Jones scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, going 5-of-9 from the floor with a 3-pointer in 31 minutes.
Guard
Malik Miller was a fourth IUP player in double-figures with 13 points.
The Crimson Hawks improved to 5-0 with the win and picked up their second Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory as they opened league play this weekend.
IUP grabbed the momentum early by scoring 16 of the game's first 18 points to take a big lead. Porterfield and guard

Chucky Humphries scored a couple of early buckets.
The lead extended to 19 points at 30-11 with under six minutes to play in the half with Humphries and Porterfield keying a 9-1 run.
The Crimson Hawks shot just 36 percent in the opening half but went 13-of-14 from the foul line and forced East Stroudsburg (3-3, 0-2) into eight turnovers. The Warriors shot just 6-of-31 from the field in the first half, including 3-of-17 from long range.
East Stroudsburg picked up its offensive production in the second half but so did the Crimson Hawks, who shot over 70 percent (17-of-24) from the floor. IUP used a 20-3 run to start the second half, breaking open its lead to 30 points at 59-29 nearing the midway point. The Crimson Hawks would take another 30-point lead down the stretch as they cruised to the win.
The Crimson Hawks overcame 17 turnovers with eight blocked shots and a +14 margin on the glass.

The Crimson Hawks are off until next weekend when they host Felician in the IUP Thanksgiving Classic. Tipoff Saturday is at 3 p.m.
