INDIANA, Pa. – The Crimson Hawks couldn't get much traction Saturday as they dropped a four-setter to visiting Edinboro at the Kovalchick Complex.
Edinboro won the first two sets by scores of 25-11 and 25-10 before IUP fought back for a 25-22 win in the third. The Fighting Scots clinched the match with a 25-20 in in the fourth.
The loss was the second of the weekend for the Crimson Hawks, whose record fell to 6-18 overall and 5-10 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play. Edinboro improved to 15-12 and 9-7.
Senior
Jessica Ignace, who was honored before the game, posted team-highs of nine kills and a .261 hitting percentage.
Gia Cannavino and
Nicole Peterson each had eight kills.
Also honored Saturday afternoon was junior setter
Dominica Niccolai, an early graduate. She had 30 assists and six digs.
As a team the Crimson Hawks hit .098 with 27 errors as Edinboro finished with 14.0 team blocks.
The Fighting Scots were also too much offensively, hitting .333 with 48 kills on 108 attacks.

This was the second of three weekend matches for the Crimson Hawks as they wrap up their homestand Sunday against PSAC Northwest Division leader Gannon. First serve is 1 p.m. at Memorial Field House.
