INDIANA, Pa. – The Crimson Hawks hit three home runs on the day and took game two into extra innings but dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Gannon Saturday afternoon at Owen Dougherty Field.
IUP lost by scores of 10-6 in game one and 5-4 in eight innings in game two. The Crimson Hawks fell to 8-22 overall and 2-12 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division.

Nick DiAndreth had a team-best three hits on the afternoon.
Jeff Allen started on the mound and pitched into the seventh inning of the game two loss, allowing just one earned run on two hits with five walks and four strikeouts.
With the Crimson Hawks trailing 3-0 in the fifth, Diehl tied things up with a 3-run shot to left field. After scoreless sixth and seventh innings, the game went to extras where Gannon hit a 2-run homer to take the lead.
Eisel answered back with a leadoff homer to lead off the bottom half, cutting IUP's deficit to one with no outs.
Nick Hess followed with a walk and pinch runner
Alex Thornberry later advanced to third on a passed ball. But with the tying run on base, the Crimson Hawks hit into two straight infield popups to end the threat.
In the opener, the Crimson Hawks led 3-1 after three innings until Gannon scored four runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings. IUP scored three in the bottom half but put just one runner on the rest of the game in the loss.
Up next
The Crimson Hawks will go out of conference next and play at West Liberty (6-25) Tuesday afternoon. They return to divisional action next weekend with a four game series against Clarion.
