Greco leads No. 25 Crimson Hawks to 19-10 win over Lock Haven

INDIANA, Pa. – Senior Adriana Greco scored a career-high eight goals to help the 25th-ranked IUP women's lacrosse team to a 19-10 victory over visiting Lock Haven Tuesday at Miller Stadium.

The nine-goal differential marks IUP's largest win over Lock Haven in program history. IUP has won two of the last three, and three of the last six in its series against the Bald Eagles.

Greco's eight goals are tied for the third most in single game IUP history, one shy of the record owned by Jackie Rutkowski (2007) and Ally Burrows (2018). It's also tied for the most goals by a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) player in a game this year.

Greco had the opening goal of the game and three in the first half, but did her most important work down the stretch. With IUP on top 12-9 but Lock Haven trying to grab momentum, Greco scored four goals to lead the Crimson Hawks on a 5-0 run to put the game on out of reach at 17-9 with eight minutes left.

She added one more goal with 3:00 left as IUP outscored Lock Haven 9-4 in the second half.

Greco added two assists on the day for 10 points, also a career-high and the most by an IUP player this season.

Lauren Piecknick played a key role in the net, entering the game after Lock Haven scored three goals in the first seven minutes of the second half to make it 12-9. Piecknick had nine saves and gave up just one goal over the final 22:47, with three of those coming on free positions.

IUP won the turnover battle 16-9 as Mollie Gallagher caused three turnovers while Katie Martyn caused two. Martyn also had three goals and an assist.

Other multi-goal performers were Victoria Kerkovich, Shannon Hartigan and Kayte Zeiler.
