CLARION, Pa. –
Renee Wall had five hits and drove in four runs and was one of several individual highlights in the Crimson Hawks' doubleheader sweep of Clarion in PSAC Central softball action Wednesday afternoon.
Wall finished 5-7 with a pair of doubles, drew four walks and scored six runs as IUP ended a six-game losing streak with a pair of wins.
The Crimson Hawks tallied scores of 17-5 and 12-8 to improve to 6-17-1 and 2-2 in the division.
Wall was one of 10 Crimson Hawks to tally a base hit and one of six with at least three hits. IUP finished with eight extra base hits including seven doubles and had 30 hits combined in the doubleheader.
Jenna Rhue finished 4-8 with a double, triple, six RBI and three runs scored. She did most of her damage in the big game one victory.
Kaitlyn Beers went 5-11 with a double and three RBI with four runs scored.

Lauren Goetz each had three hits.
Game one
IUP scored in each of the first two innings to take a 5-1 lead, getting RBI hits from Wall and Rhue while
Brooklyn Kotula drew a bases loaded walk.
Three more runs came across in the fourth, highlighted by an RBI double off the bat of Rhue. She followed that with a 2-run triple in the fifth inning to give the Crimson Hawks a 10-2 lead.
IUP had another big inning in the seventh, plating seven runs on four hits including another 2-run hit by Rhue.
Lauren Zola picked up a complete game win in the circle, striking out five and walking one with two earned runs.
Game two
Clarion (0-27, 0-4) was in control of the nightcap, taking an 8-3 lead into the sixth inning.
The Crimson Hawks then took the lead in the top half after exploding for seven runs on six hits, also taking advantage of two Clarion errors.
With one out to start the inning, Rhue drew a walk followed by a double from Wall, single by Beers and double by Hull resulted in three runs scored. Four batters later IUP tied the game at 8-8 with a single by Kesneck that scored
Karley Kovatch. An RBI double by Goetz capped the scoring in the inning.
IUP added two insurance runs in the seventh off a pair of Clarion errors to round out the scoring.

The Crimson Hawks have a weekend of divisional games ahead of them including a Friday road trip to Lock Haven and a Saturday home doubleheader with Bloomsburg.
