Rising Country Star Tucker Beathard to perform free concert prior to IUP Football game

INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP Athletic Department announced that rising country music star Tucker Beathard will play a free concert prior to the Hall of Fame football game against Lock Haven Saturday, September 21 at George P. Miller Stadium on campus.

The concert, which is free to all public, is part of IUP Family Weekend and is sponsored by STATIC and IUP Athletics.

"We're very excited to announce this Tucker Beathard concert and have him be part of our new IUP gameday experience," said IUP Director of Athletics Todd Garzarelli.

"We invite our fans, alumni and student body to enjoy this free concert as we strive to provide a vibrant gameday atmosphere for our home football games. We are also excited about our partnership with STATIC as we focus on experiences for our student population."

In March 2016 Beathard's first single titled "Rock On" peaked at No. 2 on the US Country Airplay charts. That summer, Beathard opened for Dierks Bentley during his Somewhere on a Beach Tour.

Beathard is currently touring the US with his Ride On Tour promoting his album titled Nobody's Everything. The album includes singles "Better Than Me" and "Ride On."

The 75-minute concert begins at 2 p.m. in the Stadium Lot South between the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex and Miller Stadium. The Crimson Hawks' Hall of Fame Game kick-off against Lock Haven is set for 4 p.m.

It is recommended for all fans to arrive early.

"This is another great way to make our gameday experience a community and university event, not just a football game," Garzarelli continued. "We cannot wait for everyone to come out and enjoy a free concert and an IUP football win."

Single game tickets are on sale. For purchase information, visit IUPtix.com or click HERE.

More on Tucker Beathard
Sometimes not getting what you want is a blessing. For country outlier Tucker Beathard, the souring of the record deal he was sure he needed, turned out to be the catalyst for NOBODY'S EVERYTHINGthe first installment of a double album, and a work exponentially more compelling and focused than his shelved major-label debut.

Tucker Beathard figured it out the hard way, but like anything subjected to pressure, he knows you either become a diamond or dust. Though he jokes about a year spent in "Lawyer-land," as he and his manager worked to extricate himself from his first recording contract, the 23-year old songwriter/road-rat threw himself into his music in a whole new way.

Forging a leaner, realer sound, the kid raised on Radiohead, hip-hop and the songs his father Casey Beathard has written for superstars Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, and George Strait created a taut hybrid that was more street than studio, more grit and raw emotion than polished gloss.

Beathard is the son of Nashville songwriter Casey Beathard, brother of current San Francisco 49ers quarterback C.J Beathard, and grandson of 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Bobby Beathard.
