BUCKHANNON, W.Va. –
Victoria Kerkovich scored a career-high five goals as several Crimson Hawks found the back of the net as IUP women's lacrosse defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 21-2 Monday afternoon.
Kerkovich added an assist for six points on the day, also picking up three ground balls to help the Crimson Hawks improve to 2-1 on the young season.
Jordan Kulp dished out six assists and added a goal for a team-best seven points.
The Crimson Hawks scored the first seven goals of the game and made it a running clock with 10:30 to play in the first half before taking a 14-2 lead into halftime.
Five Hawks scored multiple goals, including
Katie Hibinger,
Jenna Lund and
Maura Columbus with three each.
Lauren Piecknick and
Carly Mansur split time in the net, each collecting two saves.
Up next
The Crimson Hawks return to the field Thursday with their PSAC West opener against Seton Hill. Game time is 4 p.m. at Miller Stadium.
