Hawks fall to Mercyhurst in Erie

ERIE, Pa. – The Crimson Hawks were on a 2-game win streak before falling to Mercyhurst Saturday evening. Cloe Thoericht's early second-half goal in the 47th minute knotted up the score at 1-1. But it was all Lakers for the remainder of the match, as they tacked on two more goals to outlast the Hawks 3-1. Sophomore midfielder Samantha Nemeth assisted the goal for IUP.

The Hawks fell to 4-4-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the PSAC West.

Mercyhurst (6-3-1, 5-2-1) attempted 25 total shots throughout match, 10 of which challenged Crimson Hawks goalie Samantha Gildner, who was successful in fending off seven. IUP managed to tally up four shots on goal, coming from Thoericht (1), Nemeth (1), and Hannah Scardina (2).
