SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - For the second straight game, the IUP women's soccer team was on the wrong end of a 2-0 match as the Crimson Hawks fell on the road to Slippery Rock Saturday at Egli Field.
The Crimson Hawks wrapped up a tough week against the top two teams in the PSAC - also losing to Gannon on Wednesday - by falling to fifth in the division standings with 19 points and a 6-5-1 league record. Gannon leads with 29 points, Slippery Rock is second with 28 points, Mercyhurst is third with 25 points, and Edinboro is fourth with 21 points. The top four teams in each of the PSAC's two divisions make the conference tournament..
The Rock (10-3-2, 9-3-1) opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a goal by Sydney Patrick. They added an insurance goal in teh 67th minute off the foot of Rachel Edge.
Slippery Rock owned a slim 9-5 margin in shots but accumulated 17 corners over the 90 minutes compared to IUP's one.
Hannah Scardina had three shots, although none on goal.

Two weeks remain in the regular season as the Crimson Hawks have three matches left in their battle for a postseason spot. IUP will host Seton Hill next Saturday on Senior Day and Mercyhurst the following Wednesday, November 3 before finishing up the regular season November 6 at Clarion.
