INDIANA, Pa. - Blaise Cugini had a hand in both goals to help lift the IUP field hockey team to a 2-0 win over Seton Hill Tuesday night at Miller Stadium.
The Crimson Hawks improved to 7-2 overall and an even 2-2 in conference play. Seton Hill lost its ninth straight to fall to 1-9 and 0-3.
IUP remained undefeated at home, including a 3-0 mark in night games.
Georgiana Chiavacci scored the game's first goal in the eighth minute, grabbing a rebound from a Cugini missed shot. These were two of IUP's seven first half shots while holding Seton Hill without a single shot in the first 30 minutes.
Cugini made it a 2-0 game midway through the third quarter, deflecting a shot from
Rory Cahill past the Griffins goalie on a corner play. Seton Hill was able to get four shots off in the third quarter but the IUP defense largely shut down the Griffins, outshooting them 20-4.
