INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP men's and women's swimming program celebrated six seniors as the Crimson Hawks competed in the fourth week of PSAC virtual meets Saturday at Pidgeon Natatorium.
Senior Day festivities were held prior to the Crimson Hawks competition in the pool, as
Kenzi Kessler,
Liv Kurtz,
Havannah Suarez,
Sara Tipmongkol,
Emma Winchell, and
Shane Scudder were honored in front of teammates and a streaming audience.
The meet was the first of two virtual competitions as PSAC programs compete at their own respective pools against one another. The Crimson Hawks competed in 21 total events.
Clara Gracia improved her time in the 1000 freestyle by nearly 16 seconds, posting a time of 11:14.41.
Chris Scoboria had IUP's fastest men's 50 freestyle, lowering his time to 22.65.
Also on the men's side,
Cole Thome bettered his times in two events – posting a time of 1:48.29 in the 200 free and 1:01.37 in the 100 breaststroke.
Up next
IUP is back to compete in the sixth week of the PSAC virtual series on Saturday, April 10 at the Pidgeon Natatorium. It will be the last competition prior to the 2021 PSAC Championships in York on April 21-24.
