Beers' big season

Game one
Haleigh Zimmerman broke a 1-1 tie in the third inning with a sac fly, scoring Hope Jones. Jacey Henderson scored in the fourth, taking advantage of a UPJ error to give IUP a 3-1 lead before Renee Wall hit a run-scoring single in the sixth.

Beers blasted her first homer of the day in the seventh, a solo shot that gave the Crimson Hawks a 5-1 lead. UPJ tried to rally in the bottom half, but only managed one run off Jones, who went the distance to post her fifth win of the season.

Game two
Zimmerman gave the Crimson Hawks the lead with another sac fly in the first inning. Beers followed with her second blast, this one a two-run shot in the third inning to give IUP a 3-0 lead.

UPJ rallied to take the lead in the bottom of the fourth, plating four runs to go up 4-3. IUP tied things up the next inning when Ashley Renzi flew out to right, scoring Beers from third.

Beers then hit that third home run with one out in the top of the seventh to put the Crimson Hawks back on top. Amanda Fischer, who picked up the win in relief, forced three straight groundouts in the bottom half to secure the win.
