YORK, Pa. - IUP junior
Paige Mikesell was named the women's Most Outstanding Swimmer at the 2020-21 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming Championships. This is the second straight year Mikesell has been named the top performer at the conference championship meet.
Mikesell totaled 176 points during the two-day championship weekend - 128 in four individual wins and 48 in three relay victories, winning all seven events she competed in.
Mikesell opened her championships by winning the 200 IM (2:02.74) during the morning session on Friday and followed with a win in the 100 fly (54.43) and 400 medley relay that night. On Saturday she won four events, including the 200 fly (1:59.71) and 800 free relay in the morning, and the 100 free (51.01) and 400 free relay in the evening.Â
Mikesell helped the IUP women to a team title at the PSAC championships, the program's first since 1999.
In the last two years, Mikesell has won seven individual and four relay titles at the PSAC championships. The 2021 national champion also has a combined 11 All-American honors in her career - seven individual and four relay.Â
