SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock scored three late second half goals, including the game-winner with 13 seconds left as the IUP women's lacrosse team lost 11-10 Tuesday afternoon.
IUP dropped to 3-3 overall with the loss and into third place in the PSAC West with a 3-2 division record. Slippery Rock improved to 4-4 and 3-4.
Who stood out
Sophomore
Jordan Kulp scored five points on three goals and two assists.
Senior
Kayte Zeiler scored a team-best four goals.
Freshman
Chantal Jimenez had six draw controls, five ground balls, three caused turnovers and one goal.
How it happened
Slippery Rock got out to a 3-1 lead and built a 6-3 advantage late in the opening half. Kulp scored her first two goals of the game with 3:41 and 2:12 left as IUP cut its deficit to 6-5 at halftime.
With The Rock leading 8-6 just minutes into the second half, the Hawks reeled off four straight goals over a nine minute span, with
Emily Elliott, Kulp and Zeiler (twice) each scoring to give IUP a 10-8 advantage at the midway point of the half.
SRU scored goals at 13:11 and 7:19 to tie things up, then after an IUP turnover with under a minute to play, the game-winner with the clock ticking down. The Hawks gathered the ensuing draw control but ran out of time.

The Crimson Hawks are again on the road this Saturday, traveling to Greensburg to face No. 23 Seton Hill.
