Grace Mangapora had a season-high 14 kills and junior setter
Leah Henderson had a double-double to lead IUP women's volleyball to a match sweep of host Charleston to wrap up the UC Invitational Saturday night.
The Crimson Hawks won the match by scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-17 to split their Saturday matches after a four-set loss to Ohio Dominican earlier in the day.
Overall, IUP went 2-2 at the UC Invitational and exits the weekend with a 5-4 record on the year.
The Hawks hit .248 in the nightcap against Charleston, posting 42 kills on 105 total attacks. In addition to Mangapora's 14 kills,
Nicole Peterson had 10 and
Caroline Walsh added seven.
Henderson finished with a season-high 33 assists and had a team-high 11 digs defensively.
The Hawks lost their Saturday opener to Ohio Dominican by scores of 26-24, 25-19, 19-25 and 25-21. IUP's defensive limited ODU to just a .192 hitting percentage but the offense hit .150 on 153 attacks. Peterson had eight kills while Henderson had 15 assists and Bailey Flowerdrew tallied 15 digs.
Up next
IUP will play in its final tournament of the year next weekend with three matches on Friday. The Hawks will face Central State, host West Virginia State, and St. Augustine's.
