INDIANA, Pa. - Despite a record crowd at the Kovalchick Complex, the IUP women's volleyball team dropped its conference opener to Gannon in straight sets on Tuesday night.
The Crimson Hawks lost by scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-17 to fall to 7-7 overall. Gannon improved to 11-2.
IUP managed a .098 hitting percentage on 112 total attacks while Gannon hit .351, including 15 kills on 22 total attacks in the opening set.
Brooke Little led all Hawks with seven kills while
Caroline Walsh hit .364 with six kills on 11 attacks.
Leah Henderson dished out 24 assists and tallied three kills.
Defensively,
Bailey Flowerdew had 11 digs and
Kylie Osborn tallied four blocks, including three solo.
A reported attendance of 852 sat in the stands, which set a new IUP women's volleyball record for crowd size at the Kovalchick Complex.

The Crimson Hawks return this weekend to play at Seton Hill Friday and Shippensburg Saturday.
