CARLISLE, Pa. - A group of IUP swimmers combined for 35 conference qualifying times on the last weekend of competition before next month's 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships.
The Crimson Hawks took a small group of swimmers to Carlisle and the Keystone Aquatic Center - site of the PSAC championships - to compete in three events on Friday and Saturday. On Friday IUP split a dual with Bloomsburg and on Saturday hosted the John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational and the PSAC Last Chance Meet.
Three Hawks hit four PSAC qualifying times over the weekend -
Iliana Oikonomou,
AB McCullough, and
Kyle Thome.
Oikonomou's times came in the 100 freestyle (53.66), 200 freestyle (1:59.81), 100 butterfly (1:00.93), and 200 IM (2:15.23). McCullough had hers in the 50 free (24.91), 100 free (55.49), 100 fly (58.14), and 200 IM (2:15.93). Thome's came in the 50 free (22.02), 100 free (49.00), 200 free (1:43.77) and 500 free (4:55.08).
Other swimmers with multiple PSAC times were
Michelle Lopes with three - 50 free twice (25.80, 25.89), 100 free (55.82);
Amber Baldani with three - 100 free (55.31), 200 free (2:00.48) and 100 back (1:00.62);
Luke Ramalho with three - 50 free (22.71), 200 fly (1:58.83), and 200 back (2:02.25);
Kaylee Kassa with two - 200 fly (2:16.77) and 200 free (2:02.77);
Ryan Hartmann with two - 100 back (55.74) an 200 breast (2:19.92); and
Julien Dampenon with two - 100 breast (1:00.88) and 200 breast (2:15.33).

IUP divers are scheduled to compete in the Clarion Diving Invitational on February 4. The 2022 PSAC Swimming Championships are set for February 16-19 at the Keystone Aquatic Center.
