IUP Athletics partners with Indiana Area School District for football matchup against Seton Hill

INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP department of athletics has partnered with Indiana Area School District to distribute one free ticket for students in grades K-8 for the football game on Saturday, October 22 against Seton Hill.

IASD superintendent Mike Vuckovich will be present to flip the coin prior to the game. Those attending with tickets are encouraged to wear IUP or IASD apparel to the game. Each child in grades kindergarten through eighth grade will receive one free ticket for this Saturday's game at George P. Miller Stadium on IUP's campus, and is encouraged to bring family and friends.

"We continually rely on the Indiana community to provide support for the IUP athletic department, our teams and student-athletes," IUP director of athletics Todd Garzarelli said. "Continuing our partnership with Indiana Area School District with initiatives such as this helps support our surrounding community by providing the next generation of students and student-athletes a chance to see a collegiate athletic event in person."

The undefeated IUP football team jumped to number 13 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25 Poll, released Monday afternoon. Saturday marks the first home game for the Crimson Hawks since October 1 and provides a chance for the Indiana community to come together following consecutive road contests.

"Indiana School District is excited to show our kids that their daily efforts in the classroom and in the community are deserving of recognition by such a great institution like IUP," Indiana High School director of athletics Dan Roan said. "Any chance that we as a school district can collaborate and work together with IUP is always something we are willing to do. Growing and fostering a relationship with this University is something we take pride in."

Additionally, IUP will be wearing helmet decals in support of breast cancer health and awareness, provided by the Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC). The IRMC Comprehensive Breast Cancer team is among the most experienced in the region, featuring Dr. Dan Clark, Dr. Margaret Clark and Dr. Nazneen Billimoria. Dan Clark will be featured in a halftime interview during Saturday's radio broadcast, which can be heard on U92.5 FM and the U92 Sports Channel.
