INDIANA, Pa. – Five Crimson Hawks were named to the IUP Weekly Honor Roll for February 14. Those athletes include are
Nick Hess of baseball,
Justina Mascaro of women's basketball,
Natasha Munday of women's tennis,
Cahsia Page of women's track & field, and
Ethan Porterfield of men's basketball.
The Honor Roll celebrates individual standout performances from IUP student-athletes over the previous week.
Honor Roll recipients and details are listed below.
Nick Hess - Baseball
The grad first baseman hit .417 with an .833 slugging percentage and 1.366 OPS as the Crimson Hawks opened their season with a three-game series at UNC Pembroke. Hess had two doubles, hit a home run, and had a team-best seven RBI.
Justina Mascaro - Women's Basketball
The senior guard averaged 15.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in three games last week. In addition to her scoring average, her 69.5 field goal percentage (16-of-23), 60.0 3-point percentage (6-of-10) and nine free throws made were all team-bests.
Natasha Munday - Women's Tennis
The grad transfer didn't surrender a game as she picked up two wins in the Hawks' 7-0 win over Seton Hill. She teamed with
Katy Graydon for a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles and cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.
Cahsia Page - Women's Track & Field
The sophomore sprinter hit two PSAC qualifying times in the 60 meters (7.89) and 200 meters (25.89) at the VMI Winter Classic, hitting a season-best mark as the seventh-best time in the PSAC this season in the latter.
Ethan Porterfield - Men's Basketball
The sophomore forward averaged a team-best 21.0 points to go along with 7.0 rebounds in IUP's three wins last week. He shot 51.3 percent from the floor, 47.4 percent from three, and made 14-of-15 free throws to go along with eight steals and four blocks.
