INDIANA, Pa. – 259 athletic departments make up the second division of the NCAA. The Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) athletics department ranked No. 73 among the top 100 departments by the Learfield Directors' Cup.
 
As part of the Pennsylvania State Athletics Conference, which had the most programs in the top 150 out of any conference in Division II, the Crimson Hawks ranked fifth in the conference out of the sixteen departments that make up the conference.
 
IUP earned a total of 275 points for the academic year, with a high of 137 points coming in the winter competition season. Sixty-four of the points were earned in the spring semester.
