INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP women's basketball team debuted at No. 8 in the Atlantic Region as the NCAA Selection Committee released its initial Division II tournament rankings Wednesday afternoon.
The Crimson Hawks are 18-7 overall and have a 12-7 record in PSAC play after last night's loss at Edinboro. IUP is fifth in the region with an RPI of .568 and sixth with a performance indicator of score of 28.955.
Glenville State (24-0) leads the Atlantic Region in these rankings with Kutztown (22-5) at No. 2, Cal U (18-4) at No. 3, Shepherd (19-6) at No. 4, Seton Hill (20-8) at No. 5, West Virginia State (17-7) at No. 6, and Gannon (20-5) at No. 7.
The NCAA Selection Committee will release its list of regional rankings two more times (Feb. 23, March 2) ahead of the selection show on March 6.
