DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The IUP women's tennis team dropped their opening match of the week to Embry-Riddle, 4-0 on Monday afternoon at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
The Crimson Hawks fall to 5-4 with the loss.
The teams played a clinch format, with Embry-Riddle taking the Nos. 1 and 3 doubles spots to pick up the doubles point. No. 25
Natasha Munday and
Joanna Stralka played at the top spot, falling 6-3, while
Lydia Vlachou and
Laura Dunarova lost 6-1.Â
Stralka also played at the top singles spot, falling to No. 39 Itxaso Blanco 6-0, 6-0. Other Hawks playing to decisions were
Katy Graydon (6-2, 6-4) at No. 4 and Dunarova (6-0, 6-1) at No. 6.

The Hawks have four more matches this week, starting Tuesday against St. Mary's in Melbourne, Fla.
