WASHINGTON, Pa. - The IUP baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to division-rival Cal U Sunday at Wild Things Park. The Vulcans won the games by scores of 4-0 and 5-4.
The losses drop the Crimson Hawks to 13-14 overall and 5-5 in the PSAC West. Cal U improved to 21-8 and 6-4.
Game one
The Crimson Hawks totaled three base runners as Cal U pitcher Dylan Brosky hurled a no-hitter.
Game two
The Vulcans scored first with a pair of RBI singles to take a 2-0 lead in the first inning. IUP answered in the second with an RBI single by
Colin Williams and then took a 3-2 lead in the third on an error and bases loaded walk.
In the fourth,
Peyton Johnson doubled to left, driving home
Markus Cestra as the Hawks took a 4-2 lead. The Vulcans responded in the bottom half with three runs - a bases loaded hit by pitch, bases loaded walk, and a sacrifice fly out.
The Hawks threatened in the sixth with a pair of runners but neither advanced past second base.

The two teams meet again on Monday and wrap up their series with a doubleheader at Dougherty Field. First pitch is 1 p.m.
