How it happened
The Hawks raced out to a 5-1 lead in the game's first 11 minutes before Gannon rallied with five straight goals to go up 6-5 early in the second quarter.
IUP then scored four times over a 3:28 time span, with Borland scoring twice, to go up 9-6. The Lady Knights stopped the run with a goal but the Hawks came back with scored by Borland,
Demi Hecker, and Kulp - with three seconds left - to take a 12-7 lead at the half. IUP outshot Gannon 14-5, had a 7-3 advantage in draw controls, and held a 7-2 advantage in the scoring column in the second quarter.
That five-goal differential is the closest GAnnon would come as the Hawks led by as many as eight in the fourth quarter to come away with the win.
