Box Score Mansfield, Pa.- The IUP Field Hockey team wins exciting overtime game 4-3 against Mansfield on Saturday.
Jess Davidson swung the momentum early in the game with a goal at 8:19 in the first quarter. Towards the beginning of the third quarter,
Shelby Harnish powered through with a goal assisted by
Paeton Hartmann, extending the lead for IUP to 2-0. Proceeding a goal by Mansfield at the end of the third quarter,
Roos van Herel knocked in a goal to begin the fourth quarter, making it an IUP 3-1 lead.
Mansfield came back in the last 7 minutes of the game, with two goals back-to-back to finish regulation time in the match, sending it to a 3-3 overtime. The Crimson Hawks rallied together to finish strong with a sudden victory goal from
Jess Davidson, assisted by
Shelby Harnish.
Amanda Zaner was able to knock out three key saves on the day to assist in the victory.

"I thought it was a gutsy performance. They executed extremely well in the fourth quarter in the attacking circle and had a standout performance by their goalkeeper. I congratulate them and I know it was a heart-breaking loss, but I'm thrilled for our Crimson Hawks. We showed great leadership and resilience."
