INDIANA, Pa.-- IUP women's soccer never gave up in a ruthless battle against Mercyhurst this afternoon.
IUP (2-1-4) scored on a last-second attempt to tie the game after continuous back-and-forth play. Freshman
Belle Garzarelli scored the single IUP goal assisted by
Hannah Scardina. The duo from Indiana High School put together the impressive play with only 12 seconds remaining on the clock.

Samantha Gildner tallied three saves while protecting the net.
Mercyhurst (5-1-2) was coming off a loss to Gannon on Wednesday night. The Lakers scored in the first 30 minutes of the game . Despite their efforts, they could not keep IUP scoreless.
"Proud of the players, and they never quit again," head coach
Noreen Herlihy said. "It shows the character of this team; Mercyhurst is a tough team, and I thought during the game, we allowed them the advantage at times because we weren't pressing them high enough, which we talked about and adjusted. This team's working hard and never giving up attitude is tremendous".
