Hawks blanked at No. 20 Mercyhurst

ERIE, Pa. – The IUP women's soccer program fell 4-0 to 20th-ranked Mercyhurst on Saturday afternoon at Saxon Stadium.

Mercyhurst (11-1-0, 10-0-0) remains perfect across conference play and solidified its positioning atop the PSAC West on Saturday. IUP (4-5-3, 3-5-2) posted one shot for the match, while goalie Vanessa Berlin made three saves on the night.

Makenna Yarrow added one stop over the final 20 minutes of the contest.

Belle Garzarelli had a chance for the Crimson Hawks in the 24th minute, pushing the ball over the goal. Karah Van Horn opened the scoring for the Lakers and provided all the offense the hosts needed in the 37th minute.

Mercyhurst added one more in the first half with Camille Bultel finding the net in the 42nd minute. The Lakers tacked on two more goals in the second half.

Playing a young lineup once again, the Hawks struggled to connect offensively against a stout Mercyhurst side.
