INDIANA, Pa. – Hannah Scardina accounted for the lone goal of the game in the 15th minute before the IUP defense clamped down the rest of the way in a 1-0 shutout victory of D'Youville on Saturday afternoon at South Campus Field.
IUP (4-4-2,) closed out the nonconference portion of the schedule with a victory as
Vanessa Berlin and
Makenna Yarrow split time in goal, each playing a half. Both sides placed four shots on goal in the contest.
Scardina posted her team-best seventh goal of the season for the Crimson Hawks in the 15th minute, playing a long feed in the middle before dribbling right, faking out the goalie and burying the shot.
Yarrow made all four saves for IUP, coming in the second half as D'Youville (2-5-3) pressed for the equalizer.
Maddy Orr and Rcahel Onderko posted two shots each for IUP, which had three chance in the second half.
Saturday's shutout marked the second shutout victory of the season for the Crimson Hawks.
