GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania softball program fell into an early 8-0 hole vs. Fairmont State and saw West Virginia State drop a six-spot in the seventh to break it open, falling in both matchups.

Jordan Sylvia was a problem for the WVSU starter Autumn Thompson, notching three hits in her four at-bats plus an RBI while
Paige Truax sprinkled three hits, an RBI, a triple and two runs scored over the two contests.

Meghan Grill smacked an RBI-double against Fairmont State then turned around to go 2-for-3 vs. West Virginia State where she drove in another run.

Allyssa Schmidt and
Madison Pikula were the base stealers on the evening with
Jess Cekada and
Madeline Miller drawing the team's two walks.

A rough outing for the game one starter saw relievers
Jaycee Haidze and
Anyssa Brannon come on for damage control, tossing six innings of two-run ball (one earned) plus five Ks.

Tori Long got the nod to open game two, pitching well in 4.2 frames, allowing a single earned run (three total) with a trio of whiffs.

Next on the schedule is some inter-division PSAC action, a road trip to Shippensburg for a non-conference doubleheader at 1 and 3 p.m. on Friday.
