ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania baseball program got some solid individual contributions and won a few battles but lost the overall war, dropping both games of the doubleheader, 9-7 and 9-0.
Â
Elijah Dunn went 3-of-4 (.750), a two-run homer, two steals, a run scored plus a walk in game one alone.
Â
Harrison Pontoli and
Andrew Sicinski were the only two Crimson Hawks to notch hits in the nightcap while combining to hit .500 (7-for-14) with Sicinski driving home a pair of RBIs, and a double to go along with Pontoli scoring plus drew a quartet balls.
Â
Torrey Roper,
Au'sean Owens, and
Davin Landers all locked up two base knocks with Owens also coaxing two free passes and scoring twice.
Â
Ty Ryan (1.0 IP) and
Bryson Bain (1.2 IP) gave up only a walk and two baserunners, respectively, as neither allowed a Triton to cross the dish.
Â
IUP will attempt to end its unfortunate string of seven defeats in-a-row on Monday evening at Florida Southern at 6 p.m. in Lakeland.
