Mocs Walk-Off Crimson Hawks Despite Valiant Effort

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania baseball program posted a four-spot in the seventh to storm back to even at nine runs, but the home nine got the last laugh as they came away victorious on a walk-off single to disappoint Indiana (PA), 10-9.

Au'sean Owens hit only for extra bases on the night, going 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored plus an RBI-double as well as a solo home run.

Markus Cestra also had two base knocks, one single and a two-run round-tripper, Cooper Baxter notched a double and a single on top of scoring once while Branden Kanick reached base three times courtesy of two hits plus a base on balls.

Harrison Pontoli only needed one hit to drive in a pair of runners while Torrey Roper and Colin Patterson had seeing-eye ground balls through the right side of the infield to snag a ribbie each as Patterson's tied the proceedings in the seventh.

Sean Furlong pitched four strong innings out of the bullpen and struck out a season-high three Moccasins while giving up two hits and two earned runs (three total).

IUP will look to salvage game three of the series and the finale of its six-contest Sunshine State slate at 6 p.m. Wednesday night.
