Baseball Stops The Bleeding, Uses Six-Run Seventh To Knock Off Moccasins

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania baseball program felt the joy of victory for the first time in exactly one month, racking up 17 hits and putting a six-spot on the scoreboard in the seventh to defeat Florida Southern, 13-7.

Andrew Sicinski might need to be sponsored by Wendy's after Wednesday's triumph as he had his own version of the 4-for-4 deal, smacking four hits to pick up four RBIs with two of those being doubles as well as scoring once and reaching courtesy of a bean ball.

Torrey Roper had a similar instance where he matched his RBI count to his hit total, picking up three of each plus a two-bagger, run scored, and sacrifice fly.

Harrison Pontoli stole IUP's only base of the day to go along with a solid two ribbies, two bases on balls, a hit-by-pitch, a regular hit, and scoring all four times on-base.

Peyton Johnson was the third and final Crimson Hawk to notch a multi-hit affair, logging three total bases via a single and a double, scoring on both.

Wyatt Westendorf was credited with his first career win during his eighth appearance as a member of the IUP squad, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings and allowing two baserunners.

Bryson Bain went three full frames without a Moc touching the plate, picking up two whiffs in the process while Ty Ryen (0.2 IP) and Derrick Shields (0.1) both had clean outings in the run department.

The Crimson Hawks will finally return to the friendly confines of Owen J. Dougherty Field for a battle of the birds versus Fairmont State at 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
