LAKELAND, Fla. – IUP women's tennis could not capitalize on a strong start in a narrow 4-3 setback to Florida Southern on Tuesday afternoon.
Karolin Kirchtag and
Katy Graydon combined for a 6-0 shutout at No. 1 doubles, while
Joanna Stralka and
Natalie Kmoskova clinched the doubles point for the Crimson Hawks with a 6-2 triumph.
In singles action, Kmoskova registered a 6-4, 6-3 triumph against Florida Southern's Laura Vetter.
Graydon knocked off Vivien Chavatova by a 6-2, 6-4 count at No. 4 singles.
Idoia Huerta fell short in a hard-fought clash at No. 6 singles.
Tuesday marked the opening matchup for IUP (1-6) as part of its spring break trip after yesterday's dual with Embry-Riddle was rained out.
