INDIANA, Pa. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania softball program was two-hit in a 6-1 game one loss while game two saw the Vulcans score one in the seventh to pry the lead from the Hawks as the home team fell 6-5.
Elizabeth Kasper was superb in the circle, hurling 5.2 innings of relief with just one run scoring with two strikeouts plus a walk.
IUP had all of three baserunners in the front half of the twin bill as Alyssa Schmidt had an RBI-single, Lexi Dawson walked then scored, and Sara Tailford slapped a seeing-eye single.
Madison Pikula was the only lady with either an extra-base hit, stolen base or multiple RBIs, crushing a two-run triple to tie the ballgame at five in the fourth plus a base on balls and a run scored.
Delaney Patella reached a pair of times on free passes while Jordan Sylvia tallied her run batted in by way of a sacrifice fly.
